Sharon is an award-winning filmmaker with over three decades of experience in the industry. Her journey began in television in 1984 with Channel 4’s youth series Turn It Up, and later she honed her craft at Newport Film School and the National Film and Television School.

Throughout her career, Sharon has worked across various sectors, including charities, corporate organisations, and educational institutions, with a particular passion for social history and archaeology.

From 2003 to 2010, she specialised in media projects that empowered young people with physical and learning disabilities, using film as a tool for storytelling and advocacy.

Sharon continued her work as a freelancer until 2018, when she joined Oxford City Council as a filmmaker within the Communications Team. In this role, she has produced numerous films highlighting local initiatives, community projects, and civic events, bringing important stories to life through media engagement.

Directors Statement

The Mysterious Number 80 Crantham Street is a five-part audio drama podcast, adapted from my original short film script of the same name. While I earn my living producing factual, documentary and informational video work, I have always had a personal interest in the horror and fantasy genre.

The script was originally written in 2005 and rediscovered years later while clearing out my office. After revisiting and rewriting it, I entered it into several festivals on a whim, where it went on to receive a number of awards and nominations. Feedback from the USA-based Carnival of Darkness: The Haunted Pamlico Film Festival proved particularly encouraging, and it was this response that led me to develop the project further.

This audio drama is the result of that process. In many ways, it sits outside my usual work and firmly outside my comfort zone, but it has been an exciting and unexpected journey to bring it to life.

Susan Hall, Co-Producer

Susan has produced many events and films for local government, where she met Sharon Woodward. In 2020, during the COVID pandemic, they worked together to bring the award-winning film of Remembrance Sunday to the screen, which took place on 8th November 2020. This was broadcast on social media, allowing everyone to pay their respects at a time when people had to remain at home and keep a distance.
